Roman Nedielka on E.round the World journey
For the first time ever, an electric motorcycle completed a tour around the world, ridden completely solo by Roman Nedielka, a Slovakian national residing in Indonesia. He embarked on his journey from Jakarta in July 2023 with a vision to demonstrate the viability and reliability of electric motorcycles through this extremely long-distance journey around the world. Utilizing a standard Zero DSR/X electric motorcycle without any modifications, this journey project is called 'E.round the World.'
Throughout his 8-month journey, Roman encountered diverse cultures, climates, and landscapes, each presenting its own set of challenges and experiences. It starts with navigating Southeast Asia's forests during the wet rainy season, traversing vast empty stretches of Kazakhstan's deserts with strong winds, enduring freezing temperatures in the United States during winter, to facing scorching 45°C summer heat in Australia.
Roman has always been very enthusiastic about the new capital city project as he previously lived in the Middle East, where he has first-hand witnessed the rise of new cities from a vast empty desert. He wanted to bring the electric motorcycle he has taken worldwide to Indonesia’s future capital city, IKN, as a symbolic gesture of transition from the old capital Jakarta, where he started his round-the-world journey.
"The new capital city can be a world-class example of integration between nature and sustainable mobility. After visiting the IKN and riding inside on an electric motorcycle, I could see the future forming in front of my eyes," said Roman
As he concludes his journey, Roman remains committed to elevating the e-mobility ecosystem in Indonesia and encouraging more people to embrace sustainable transportation options. "I hope to inspire more people to consider electric mobility and contribute to increasing the livability and quality of life in Indonesian cities."
Roman Nedielka started his journey from Indonesia to Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, China, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkiye, Bulgaria, Serbia, Hungary, Slovakia, Czechia, Germany, France, the United States, Australia, Timor Leste, and back to Indonesia covering over 40,000 km round the world completely solo, first-time such solo ride of electric motorcycle round the world has been an achievement.
Despite coming from a humble background, thanks to 22 years of hard work in his career, he could achieve this journey without any sponsorship or monetization of content, which ensured authenticity and relevance to the public.
